Windows 10 and Windows 11 can burn basic files to a disc from File Explorer, and that is where the built-in tools stop. Windows does not give you:

- Video discs with custom menus

How to Get and Activate Ashampoo Burning Studio 2027
Follow these five steps. The screenshots are from my own test on Windows 11, and I hid most of my license key.
Step 1: Request Your Free Full Version Key
Open the official Ashampoo giveaway page, type your email address, and click Request full version key.
Step 2: Reveal and Copy Your Personal License Key
Log in to your myAshampoo account. Under Step 2: Show license key, your personal key for Burning Studio 2027 appears. Click the copy button next to it.
Step 3: Run the Official Installer
Use the download button in the box above, or download ashampoo_burning_studio_2027.exe directly. Launch it and click Agree & Proceed.
Step 4: Activate the Key Inside the Installer
On the license screen, follow the three numbered markers in the screenshot:
- Paste the license key from your clipboard.
- Click Activate now! A green message says the entered license key is valid.
- Click Next.
Step 5: Finish the Installation
Keep Launch Ashampoo Burning Studio 2027 ticked and click Finish. The program opens already activated.
Tip: some users end up with a 10 or 30-day trial instead of the full version. That usually happens when they skip the account step or enter a standard trial key. Always copy the key from your myAshampoo account and paste it on the installer’s license screen, as in Step 4, so the full license is applied from the start.
Inside the Program: My Windows 11 Test
The dark dashboard groups everything in a left sidebar: Burn Data, Audio + Music, Video, Copy Disc, Disc Image, Backups, Advanced Functions, Open Project, and Service. Use the arrows to see the main screen and the backup module I opened.
Burn Data with Scratch Protection and Disc Spanning
Scratch protection writes extra recovery data to the disc, so files can often still be read after the surface is damaged. Disc spanning splits a large folder across several CDs, DVDs, or high-capacity BDXL and M-Disc media, which is useful for long-term archives.
Audio + Music: Ripping and Car Stereo Compilations
You can rip audio CDs with automatic track identification, build playlists, print covers, and prepare music so older car stereos play the songs in the correct order.
Video and Slideshow Creation
The Video module authors DVDs and Blu-rays with animated menus, and it can use Intel Media hardware acceleration for video encoding on supported PCs.
Disc Images (ISO, CUE/BIN)
Create, burn, and browse disc images, with a live preview of what is inside. That helps with Windows installation ISOs, software discs, and game images.
Smart Backups, Even Without an Optical Drive
If your laptop has no disc burner, you can still use Burning Studio 2027 to back up PC drives, smartphones, and tablets to an external USB drive, with password encryption. In my test, I opened a backup project and went through the three stages: Selection, Settings, and Output. The Edit Exclusion Rules button lets you skip certain system files automatically, and the screen itself says some files are excluded by default.
