Free 1-Year License for Coolmuster Lab.Fone for Android (Official Giveaway)

The Coolmuster Lab.Fone for Android free license is an official one-year giveaway: you enter your name, email, and a CAPTCHA on Coolmuster’s page, receive a code, and register the Windows app, which normally costs $49.95.

Quick summary: This is for anyone who lost contacts or messages on a rooted Android phone, or photos and files on an SD card, and wants to try a real recovery tool before paying. My verdict: worth claiming while it’s open, because the license runs 365 days and costs nothing. One number to remember: $49.95 becomes $0 for the first year.

Important note: The giveaway page showed a countdown of about 4 days on October 23, 2026. Offers like this can end earlier or later than the counter suggests, so claim it on the official page rather than relying on this article.

Always get the license from coolmuster.com only. Keep the code and the email you used.

How to Get the Coolmuster Lab. Fone for Android Free License

You need three things: the giveaway form, the installer, and the same email address at registration. The whole process took me a few minutes.

Step 1. Request the code. Open the official giveaway page, type your name, email and the captcha, then press Submit. The page itself reminds you to save the license code and the email address.

The official form asks only for a name, an email and a captcha

Step 2. Copy the code. The code appears in a pop-up. Coolmuster says to register with the same email you typed plus this code, so copy both somewhere safe before closing the window.

The code is shown once on screen, so save it with your email

Step 3. Install. Download the installer from the official link, run it, and accept the Privacy Policy and EULA when the setup asks. I’d read them, since the setup requires agreeing before it continues.

Step 4. Register. Open the app, click the key icon at the top right, then choose Register. Paste your email and the code, and press Register.

Step 5. Confirm. A success message appears, and the registration window then shows the subscription period.

What the Free Trial Blocks (and Why Registering Matters)

Without registration, the trial only scans. It will not preview or recover anything, so a scan result alone can’t tell you whether your file is really there.

This is the problem I’d expect most people to hit: they scan on the trial, see a promising list, and then find they can’t open or save anything. Register first, then scan.

Recovery Tools Inside the App

The app is split into Android Data Recovery, SD Card Recovery and a Super Toolkit tab. The first two are the core recovery tools. The third collects other Coolmuster tools.

SD Card Recovery works through your PC rather than your phone. It asks you to put the microSD card into a card reader connected to the computer, then continue.

The Super Toolkit lists tools such as Android Assistant, Mobile Transfer, Android Eraser, SMS + Contacts Recovery, Android Backup & Restore, Android WhatsApp Recovery and a HEIC converter. I only looked at the list, so I can’t say how each one behaves. Some entries, like iOS Data Recovery and iCloud Backup Recovery, are for iPhone, not Android. If that’s your device, see my Coolmuster iPhone Data Recovery giveaway review.

What I Have Not Tested

I registered the app and checked the license, but no phone was connected, so I did not run a recovery. That means I can’t give you a success rate, a recovery speed, or a list of file types I actually restored.

Treat this page as a verified guide to getting and activating the license, not a recovery benchmark. If you test it on a real device, scan first, preview the files you need, and only then recover.

What the License Is Worth

The regular price shown on the giveaway page is $49.95. Spread over the 365-day license, that is about $4.16 per month, and you pay nothing for it.

If you only need recovery once, the free year covers that need completely. If you’d keep using it after October 2027, the license window shown in the app ends October 23, 2027, and what happens next is Coolmuster’s own recovery FAQ is clear about what the app can and can’t do, so read it before you scan.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Free official license for one year, registered in minutes
  • Clear split between phone recovery and SD card recovery
  • Preview before recovery in the registered version

Cons

  • Trial scans but can’t preview or recover
  • Windows only on this giveaway
  • Recovery results untested here, and the license is time-limited

Who Should Skip It

Skip it if you use a Mac, since the giveaway page lists Windows 11, 10, 8 and 7. Skip it too if your data is gone because of physical damage, where a lab is a better fit than software.

Choose this if you have a Windows PC, a phone or SD card with missing files, and no appetite to pay $49.95 before testing.

Practical Tips Before You Scan

Stop using the device as soon as you notice the loss. New photos, downloads and app updates can overwrite deleted data, and that is why recovery chances drop with every hour of use.

For an SD card, take it out of the phone and use a card reader as the app instructs. Keep the license code and your email in a password manager, since registration needs both. If you want a second opinion on any installer you download, my Microsoft Safety Scanner review covers a free way to scan it.

If your missing data is WhatsApp on an iPhone, my Coolmuster iPhone WhatsApp Recovery giveaway post is the better match.

FAQ

Root and What Lab.Fone Can Recover

Do I need to root my Android phone to recover deleted files with Lab.Fone?

For files on the phone’s internal memory, yes, you need a rooted phone. For an SD card, no: you take the card out and scan it on your PC. Rooting is tricky and can fail, so think twice before rooting just for this.

Can Lab.Fone recover deleted photos from my phone's internal storage?

Not reliably. Photos, videos and music on internal storage are its weak spot. It works best for contacts and messages on a rooted phone, and for photos and files on an SD card. If your photos were on the SD card, your odds are better.

Can I recover my files after a factory reset?

No. A factory reset wipes the phone’s data for good, and recovery software can’t bring it back. Your only real chance is a backup. If Google sync was on, sign in to your Google account when you set the phone up again and restore from there.

SD Card, Connection and Screen Problems

How do I recover deleted photos from an SD card on my PC?

Take the card out of the phone, plug it into your PC with a card reader, and open SD Card Recovery in the app. No root needed. Stop using the card right away, and register the license first so you can preview and save what it finds.

Why doesn't Lab.Fone detect my Android phone?

Unlock your phone and turn on USB debugging; the app can’t see a locked phone. Then try another USB cable or port, make sure the driver installed when you first plugged it in, and update the program to the latest version.

Can I recover data from a phone with a broken or locked screen?

Only if the phone was already unlocked with USB debugging on before the screen broke, and even then the chances are small. If that wasn’t the case, the app can’t read the phone. A repair shop or your Google backup is the safer route.

Timing and Backups

How long after deleting can I still recover files?

There’s no fixed deadline, but your chances drop the longer you wait. Deleted space gets reused, and Android also cleans it up in the background. Stop using the phone or card now, skip new photos and downloads, and scan as soon as you can.

What should I try before using recovery software?

Check the Gallery’s recycle bin first, since recently deleted photos stay there for a limited time. Then try Google Photos or your Google account backup, or a local backup in Settings. Recovery software is a last resort; backups are the only reliable way back.

Final Verdict

Claim it if you have a Windows PC and lost Android data, since it costs nothing and the license period is clear. Skip it if you’re on a Mac or your device is physically damaged. One concrete reason: the free trial only scans, so the registered license is the only way to preview and recover.
